Chop, Chop, Chop- Chef Carole at Benihana

Carole, Don, Myra, Adrianne, mom, & dad decided that
Monday was a great night to get together at Benihana
for dinner. After we enjoyed the first courses of onion
soup & salad with ginger dressing, Carole got a phone
call and excused herself from our table.

That was a tricky way to get Carole back to the kitchen
because in a few minutes she returned with the red
Benihana chef's hat and white apron and was ready to
be the guest chef for our dinner! She had already had a
one-on-one training session with the #2 Master Chef
for cooking a dinner of steak & shrimp with rice & vegetables.
She started with the traditional courtesy bow.

On Monday night she was assisted by the
restaurant's #1 chef!!! Carole was warned to not
put her hands out to stop herself if she started
losing her balance- the grill is 500 degrees in
the center!

The next course was fried rice with eggs &
shrimp. It was super delicious!!! Carole
told jokes & didn't look at all nervous.

Next, she did grilled vegetables. Part
of the program was to stack the onion rings
and make a train with smoke coming out
of the smokestack- you can actually see the
smoke in this picture!

It's a good thing that Carole is used to-and
likes- using super sharp knives!

Look at those huge shrimp!

And the platter of meat! Carole enjoyed the
night- almost every picture, even while she
was concentrating on cooking, shows her
smiling.

Don smiles "YUMMY!" and Myra is ready
to attack the food with those chop sticks!!!

Carole closes her program with the crossed
santoku knives. Chop, Chop, Chop!

Finally, Chef Carole gets to sit down to her
plate of food!

"Let it be known Carole Crockett has trained with a
Master, has performed the ancient art of Teppanyaki,
and shall hereby be called Master Teppanyaki Chef."

This is the official photo of the newest Master Chef
and the #1 Master Chef after our great dinner. We
learned that Carole was THE FIRST to be a guest
chef at this Benihana's! The hostesses, the manager,
guests at other tables were all watching her!
Way to go, Carole!!!!

Very, very fun! It all looks so delicious! Makes me kind of want one of those 500 degree grills myself :) I'm full of kitchen "wants" like that.
