Piggly Wiggly Fries & Zucchini

ARIZONA STATE FAIR 2006

Don was asked to help tie the knots &
then while covered so you could only
see his head, his black jacket transferred
to the girl who was still in knots! Carole
even thought they were good illusionists.

The favorite ride was the giant slide-dad
even tried it out! The water bumper cars
came in close second. Emma was very
cautious about the rides while Sydney was
willing to try ANYTHING and EVERYTHING!

The traditional piggly fries & fried
zucchini finished off the night, along
with trying out the electric foot
massager. A good time was had by
all.

Tree Trimming Time!

Here I am trimming the trees and standing in back of the
pile of branches in the garden. Good thing that the bulk
trash pick up is in a week. Do you think I really wear
nice non-holey clothes like this or old grubby painting
clothes??? Could these pictures be set up?

Thanks to Don's lopers, I could reach the tops
of all the trees.

On Saturday, each tree also got a nice fresh coat of
white paint- gorgeous!!! I tried to keep the nice straight
edge lines from the last time Rachel the artist painted
them.

HIGH ADVENTURE- part 2

Dad & Don relax on Friday night- good thing
because they will be busy on Sat. working in
the rain. (This is the "before" picture.)

The rains started and the umbrellas (from Adrianne) came
out! We LOVE the IKEA blue & yellow umbrella. Mom gets a
chance to hold Elijah. He is getting ready for Fathers' & Sons.

Sydney is getting a new name-
we are calling her "Harriet
Potter Crockett". She tripped
on a rock as she came out
of the tent.

Mom found the flat tire on
Friday night. Dad thought
mom was exaggerating
but nooooo- flat as a
pancake & down on the
rim.

Saturday dad & Don got to change the tire
in the pouring rain. The car was on dry
ground on Friday & then was in the middle
of a raging river by Saturday.

See all that water! Don't you love the yellow panchos???
Are we having fun yet???? (This is the "during" picture.)

Even though the washes were flooded, we managed to
get through the water & get home. It really was a good family
camping trip but I was sooooo glad to get home to a
warm, dry bed and hot running water.

HIGH ADVENTURE IN THE LOW DESERT- part 1

We had a fun campout at Seven Springs on Friday.

Carole was in charge of the campfire & dinner- she planned a yummy
"Stone Soup".

Dad & Emma got the lantern working.

How many marshmellows can you
cook at one time???

And then the rains came!
It poured and poured!!!

Good thing that Adrianne
was prepared with umbrellas-
we LOVE this IKEA umbrella.

Mom & girls played Old Maid in
the car while staying semi-dry.
These are the "green box" cards.

FIRE! FIRE!! FIRE!!!

Monday afternoon at about 4 pm there was a little excitement at work when the phone closet between the men's & women's bathrooms was opened and smoke billowed out. The fire was put out by Tom Jr. with a hand fire extinguisher but 2 hook & ladder, 2 battalion chiefs, 2 police cars, ambulence, & 2 small fire trucks arrived. They blocked off the street & poked holes up into the eaves of the C building & evacuated the whole office complex. Dad came home to get me & then go back to get these pics. It looks like the fire was in the electrical wiring in the equipment room where the phone lines are & that most phones & internets are out. Luckily, Dad just checked from home and he still has internet & phones lines. Just a little excitement on a Monday!

Fishing At Bartlett Lake

Dad, Carole E, & Don joined with the rest of the
guys from work and on Friday night went to
Bartlett Lake to camp & mainly fish. Only a
few little fish allowed themselves to be caught
but the campfire (provided by Carole's wood)
& visiting were great. (And mom sent a special
pumpkin pie & whip cream
to celebrate dad's birthday!)
