In Honor Of "Earth Day"...

The desert is just absolutely gorgeous right now- maybe it
is from all that rain we have gotten so far this year. These
cactus flowers are in yards around us...
"For the Lord will comfort Zion...he will make her wilderness
like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and
gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice
of melody." (Is. 51:3)
"The desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose." (Is. 35:1)

So...
check out our desert "roses" and then there are just a couple
pictures of palm trees at the end. (And yes, I did take all these.
If you enlarge the 2nd picture with the red flowers, the red
looks like fiber optics with a gold tip- really, really pretty.)

Goodby, Elder Gibson!

On Tuesday Dad & I went to the airport to tell Elder Dorley
Gibson goodby as he left to go to the MTC for 3 weeks before
going to the Lansing Michigan Mission. He is a great young
man who has not had the support of parents & has shown great
faith in sticking to his decision to serve a mission. Dad would
have a banana for him whenever he would come by the house.
Dorley even mowed down the weeds in the garden area a couple
weeks ago!
Here we are- mom, E. Gibson, dad

Here is the group of us at the airport. We were glad he left from
terminal 3 where it is not as crowded. Also, we really like the
hanging airplane!

I love this picture of the two brothers. Dorley was so sad while
Flomo was on his mission, and on Tuesday Flomo was so sad
(& in tears) because Dorley was leaving. They are "best friends".

MORE Spring Flowers!

Here are more pictures of our very pretty roses. I love these.
Plus the next to last picture shows the one rose bush with
about 15 blossoms! And most of them smell really good, also!!!
Check out the last picture- it is of a desert cactus plant but even
those can have beautiful flowers. This one reminds me of bells.

Fancy Sydney, Baby Chicks, & The Queen Duck

We had a fun birthday celebration for Sydney on
Friday night. She became "Fancy Sydney" when
Carole gave her a Fancy Nancy Explorer book &
the fancy equipment to go with it, including hat,
sunglasses, fanny pack, magnifying glass, and
even PINK lemonade.

We also got to see Emma's baby chicks- she used
some of her birthday money to start a hen house.

And Emma remembered how much I
LUV ducks for the tub and got me these very
cute new ducks for my collection from a
school fair- one is a queen duck. Thanks, Emma!

Easter Pageant

Pre-Pageant activities included the traditional Pete's
Fish & Chips. Are you drooling yet??? Dad & I
took Dorley & Flomo Gibson with us to the pageant
(they are to the left of Dad).

As usual, we loved the pageant, especially the end with the
Savior going up into the sky. This was the first time Dorley
had seen the pageant, and he thought it was great! He gives
his talk next Sunday and leaves for his mission to Michigan
the following week.

The boys had fun with one of the cast afterwards- isn't this just
like a couple 19 to 21 year old guys?

AND this was one of the fun parts- someone from Mesa
who was sitting in the row ahead of us had this blanket! It
sure brought back lots & lots of memories. Do they use the
blanket on a bunkbed? Do they know "Does Love Live?"?
