Having Fun BEFORE Christmas!

What a busy house! Savannah helped decorate the tree...

Tyler helped fix the washer & worked on the leaky sprinklers.

Of course there was still lots of time to play with the dolls...

and twirl in a Sunday dress.

On Thursday night- oops, the plane was really delayed and so it was Friday morning, the Smiths & Mark arrived...very tired! Amelia still likes penguins.

Mark got to the orthodontist to reglue a retainer & also and more importantly) back to the airport to claim his cell phone.

Amelia checked the work while dad Ben studied...

and Mark & dad had a serious conversation.

Mark helped mom make- and test-the fudge...

and Savannah & Rachel made & decorated cookies! We even got the pig pitcher down to pour the milk!!

And two cute girl cousins got to know each other(that's Evie on the left & Amelia on the right).

Grandma Crockett Visits R.S.

During Relief Society on Sunday, Grandma Crockett
came to visit & talk about knitting & even told a joke
or two: "How many know how to knit- raise your
hands?" "Now, how many of you have had a broken
bone- then you know how to knit also- you know,
a broken bone knits together." Actually, the lesson
was about having our hearts knit together in unity.
(And I am sooooo glad I don't look like this...yet.)

Happy Helicopter Flying!

Don had fun with his new helicopter. Here
is the maiden voyage & a flight after a few
practice runs.

What Is In That Big Box? A CAT??????

Carole got to open a couple presents before dinner. When the first
one turned out to be 2 cans of cat food, she wondered "What kind
of trick is this?" Then we showed her the big wrapped box. Since
Carole really does not want any pets (or pet hair) around, she
hesitated going over to that box. S-L-O-W-L-Y she opened it...
only to have her fears go away as Savannah jumped out of the box
& yelled "Surprise!" The Nays had come especially for Carole's
birthday. Savannah had practiced over & over being in
the box & being quiet. She only made a couple faint taps on the
box while waiting patiently for Carole to open it. Of course, this
all looked like so much fun that ALL the other kids had to take a
turn jumping out of the box & surprising each other!

DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE, DOUBLE YOUR FUN...

Double your pleasure,
Double your fun with...
Double the birthdays!
(I bet you thought I was going to
say gum!)

Since Don was born on Dec. 5th & Carole
was born on the 7th (that's Carole, not
Pearl!), we often have combined birthdays
for them. This was a special year since Ruth
& Tyler & family came to help celebrate! Don
& Carole alternated opening presents & all the
kids were very excited to help open fun presents.

Carole got some serious presents (very special letters from each in the family)& lots of fun things- magnets,a candle,a Foreman grill, glue gun, fire extinguisher, but her big present was a Wii fit game-she & Sydney tried out some of the poses.

Don also got a couple big presents. Here he
is a two-handed tool man...

but here he sees the "fun" present...

his own helicopter!!!! YES!

And of course, cousins Savannah & Elijah had lots of fun dressing up. What a fun,fun night.
