The Fair & Family Fun

It is October & time for our traditional
trip to the Arizona State Fair. We started
the night watching the banana derby-
monkeys riding dogs & racing.

Dad & Miriam checked out the high
diving event & then we all tried the
samples at the Spam Mobile. Miriam
was brave & answered a few Spam
questions to earn a Spam t-shirt!
Another Spam convert!!!

The kids got 3 rides- Miriam picked
the tilt-a-whirl. I wish you could have
seen the expression on her face :)
while Emma & Sydney went on the
Crazy Coaster (a small roller coaster).
This is Sydney hugging Don after the
ride (and not letting go for quite a while).
"It was a scarey ride!"

Here's Samuel &Adrianne, Emma,
Elijah, Miriam, Don, & Sydney in
front of the Fun House that the girls
went through.

The guys really wanted to see the
Demolition Derby- noisy & crazy!
Carole's favorite shark car didn't
win!

Elijah thought it was great fun!
Again, a boy thing.

Of course, we had to have Piggly Fries
before we left the fair. We also got to
try something new- deep fried potatoes!
Not bad. And yummy funnel cake! With
two toppings- carmel & chocolate! AND
mounds of whip cream!!!

Sydney had been waiting for the best part
to her...the foot massage at the end! Of
course, it felt even better because it was
in the yellow chair! Don figured Sydney
would have been happy if he had just brought
a few quarters & skipped the rest of the fair!!!

Sounds like lots of fun! We wish we could have been there. You sure are super grandparents!

Carole's car shark didn't even get started - the engine died before the car even moved. It reminded me of the time I picked a horse in the horse race - not only did I not win, my rider fell off the horse!!!

Looks like you guys had a ton of fun. We try to go to the fair every sept. When we get home but never get around to it. Maybe next year. I'm glad you took a bunch of pictures to share.
