Instead of GNO (Girl's Night Out) we celebrated Carole & my
December birthdays. Carole found a bunch of places that give
special birthday offers, and so the three of us went to Benihana's.
The food was good but the entertainment was GRRRRRRRREAT!
Our chef made a train out of onion slices stacked on top of each
other & made the smoke rise from that by putting a pat of butter
on the grill with a bit of water to create steam. He flipped bowls
up into his hat, along with some shrimp. He did one trick where
he tossed a lemon wedge into the air & caught it on a fork behind
his back (or did he already have another lemon stuck on another
the fork???) There were 7 of us at this particular grill/table and
4 had birthday coupons! It was such a good deal- $30 toward a
meal with the coupon. One of the very fun things was that as we
left, Carole found the perfect birthday/Christmas present for next
year for her- a two hour training session with one of the chefs and
then you become the chef for a dinner with 3 of your friends/family.
This even included an apron & chef's hat (but not the knife).
